Consciousness Theories Privacy Policy
Effective October 16, 2026
The short version: Consciousness Theories has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The theories you make stay on your device. Something leaves your device only when you choose to share a theory, download one from the Shared library, report one, or send us a suggestion. We never sell or share information about you.
Who we are
Consciousness Theories is an app for building, exploring and comparing theories of consciousness. It is made by The Eclectic Witch ("we", "us"). Questions about this policy can be sent to support@00theeclecticwitch00.com.
What stays on your device
These are saved only on your phone, tablet or computer. We cannot see them:
- Your theories, including every part, connection, note, term and diagram layout
- Theories you import or download, your favorites and the authors you block
- Your settings, such as colours, text size and window positions
- Your sharing key (see below)
Deleting the app deletes all of this. Your phone's own backup (Android backup or iCloud) may keep a copy of your sharing key, so a restored phone can still update the theories you shared.
Read aloud
Read aloud uses the voice built into your device. Nothing is uploaded to do it.
Sharing a theory by email or file
When you share a theory as a .theory file, the app hands the file to your email app or saves it where you
choose. It goes only where you send it; we never see it.
The Shared library
The Shared library is a public collection of theories inside the app. It is optional.

Every theory is reviewed by a person before it appears in the library. Please don't put personal information in a theory you publish: anyone can read and download an approved theory.
Removing a theory: on the device holding your sharing key, open your theory in the Shared library and choose "Remove it". It is deleted from our service straight away, with its download count and any reports. Copies other people already downloaded stay on their devices. If you lost your key, write to submissions@00theeclecticwitch00.com and we will help.
Suggestions
"Send a suggestion" opens your own email app with a message to us. We receive only what you choose to send, and use it only to reply and to improve the app.
Tips
Optional tips ("Tip the Creator" in Settings) are paid through Google Play or the App Store on phones and the Mac, and through Ko-fi in your browser on Windows. They unlock nothing. The store or Ko-fi handles the payment under its own privacy policy; we never see your payment details.
Our app's service
The Shared library runs on Cloudflare. To limit abuse, Cloudflare briefly checks how many requests come from one internet address; that address is not stored by us.
What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-in
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
- No analytics, usage tracking or crash reporting services
- No selling, renting or sharing of information about you
- No location, contacts, camera or microphone access
Children
The app is meant for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes what it sends or stores, this policy will be updated first, with a new effective date at the top.
